Give Reliable Transportation
Atlanta is known for terrible traffic and unreliable public transportation, especially outside the city limits where we are located. As gas prices (along with other necessities) are skyrocketing, providing reliable transportation is an essential part of helping our mothers continue with their program here at MAP.
Over the last 8 years, we learned (through experience and research studies) that reliable transportation is a key factor for those in poverty to complete bettering service programs. Simply put, if the money is not there, then there is no way that they can attend their sessions. Therefore we decided that MAP Sandy Springs will prioritize transportation as a budgeted line item.

This amount will provide approximately 500 Lyft/Uber rides.
This will provide approximately 30 weekly gas cards.
While these numbers seem large to one person, as a MAP:Family, we can reach one mom at a time, one donation at a time.
How we do this: We provide Lyft/Uber rides or gas cards to the mothers in the program for all services that they attend in Phase I. In Phase II and III, our clients are able to pay a portion (while we continue to pay a portion) toward transportation costs as they begin to have more reliable work and transportation options.

$950 provides gas cards for a family for 6 mo. (or $80/month donation for 1 year)
