Why does MAP need a New Office Space?
MAP Makes Room Campaign: Year 1
New Office Space to Meet Current and Future MAP Needs
Goal: $250,000
Keys unlock many things. When you first buy a house, you can’t wait to have the key put in your hand. Or when you start a new job and you get the keys to the office. And even in the most magical of make believe stories, there is often a key that must open up the locked door to the adventure that awaits. Keys mean that you belong in that place. Keys mean that you have been given access to the benefits that lay behind the door. Most rooms have locks and keys!
Impact Giving Levels
We’re inviting any MAP Makes Room donor to our exclusive open house in Spring 2025! Any donation is greatly appreciated. Specific giving levels listed below will also include a printed name plate on our Donor Wall in the new office.
Foundation: $10,000+
Structure: $5000+
Support: $2500+
Keys also can symbolize access as well to opportunities and potential. For some opportunities are easy to come by, but for the mothers that come through the front door of MAP, opportunities seem locked behind the impenetrable door of trauma, shame, guilt, poverty, and hopelessness. However, this is exactly why we joyfully unlock the offices of MAP each day, because we know that the TASS Model we have created is the key to unlocking that seemingly impossible to open door. We daily want our moms to know that they belong in the spaces of healing and flourishing that are behind that door. We have the keys and we want to “make copies” and give access and opportunity to be the healthy family we know they can be.
In February, we will be physically moving our offices!
Thanks to the success of our program backed by the continued support of our MAP:Family, we’ve been able to outgrow our Sandy Springs office. Our new Home Office will be in Norcross, GA, within the shared office park owned by Corners Outreach non-profit.
This new Home Office will have twice as many rooms to unlock that we hope will then double the number of families we will be able to unlock opportunities for as well. This move will propel us forward in our 3-Year Strategic Plan goals, specifically supporting our efforts to increase MAP Home Office Customized Programming. In the new space, we’ll have the room needed to Create a Comprehensive Parenting Program, Maintain Intentional Customer Care And Diversify Populations, and Build an Engaged MAP:Alumni Program.
Office Features Include:
+2000 sf (increasing to 6500 sf)
Larger, curated kids area to provide a more structured MAP:Kids program
Dedicated donation space to store items that meet basic needs on-site such as food, clothing, hygiene products and activity bags for moms to do at home with their children
Additional private office spaces for MAP to hire more staff to serve more families.
Additional meeting space for MAP program participants to serve multiple cohorts at once (currently, we have one space and can only accommodate one cohort at a time)
Large, flexible meeting space allowing us to bring participatory arts portion (trauma focused yoga) of our curriculum on-site
Ample space to host MAP:Alumni service groups for hiring, events, and more
Increased security with a double entry welcome area
Access to other collaborative partners in the space to serve our families more holistically.
Access to a walkable food pantry and outreach events in the same building.
Not only will our new office give space for our impact to grow with the number of participants we can serve, our strategic location in the Corners Outreach building will multiply options available to our moms and set ourselves up to have a bilingual service team. Neighboring organizations include Corners Outreach, United Way, and Viewpoint Health.
Our proximity to Corners Outreach will give immediate access to job training and placement services, tutoring services, ESOL classes, GED classes, and much needed bilingual services on site. Since we offer free transportation to all program participants to/from the MAP office, we will be able to create a mutually beneficial transportation partnership with Corners by hiring their transportation services and cutting down our current transportation costs significantly.
Another business park neighbor, Viewpoint Health, offers on-site psychiatry services through a Medicaid sliding scale and child therapy services that will be convenient and easy to access by our MAP moms and MAP:Kids.
United Way’s location offers our staff exposure to things happening state-wide and a gateway unique opportunities that help expand our services beyond our current counties.
