Compensation: Paid $150-$250/group based on experience and length of group. Max 2-4 groups per week

What does an Awesome Therapeutic Trauma Group Facilitator Do?

As a therapeutic trauma group facilitator at Mothers Advocacy Project, you provide our clients with the tools to help establish and/or maintain healthy families by closely following MAP’s Trauma Assimilation and Social Support (TASS) model, developed by MAP’s Dr. Denisa Millette. Working within the model guidelines, our Facilitator will serve as the client’s guide through Phase 1 and Phase 3 groups. Each group will have an average of 10 women and last from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours weekly. All materials are written and digitized, and training in the model will be provided upon employment start date.

Position Purpose:

The purpose of the Therapeutic Trauma Group Facilitator is to guide clients through a therapeutic psychoeducation component of the Mothers Advocacy Project (MAP)’s unique TASS model, in group settings of ~10 women. All materials and training in the model will be provided upon employment start date.

Qualifications for consideration: 

  • LPC or LCSW is required

  • Experience working with clients with trauma disorders.

  • Experience facilitating/leading therapeutic groups.

  • Excellent communication skills, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail oriented. 

  • Driven to help others.

Key Specific Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate therapeutic trauma groups 2-4 times per week.

  • Establishes positive, trusting rapport with patients.

  • Maintains thorough records of patient meetings and progress.

  • Follows all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality.

Staff Team Requirements:

  • Attends quarterly staff meetings.

  • Attends weekly clinical staff meetings.

  • Completes Staff Self-Appraisals a min of 1x per calendar year.

  • Attends all necessary trauma training.

  • Attends all necessary developmental training for the position.

  • Maintain a caseload of 2-4 groups per week.

Payment Structure and Benefits: 

  • Employee is paid based on the caseload they carry and the clients they see.

  • $250/group for 120-minute based sessions (Phase 1 Group). This payment includes all documentation required and attending the Clinical Staffing Meeting for 1hr. per week.

  • $150/group for 90-minute based sessions (Phase 3 Group). This payment includes all documentation required and attending the Clinical Staffing Meeting for 1hr. per week.

  • Typical caseload – A typical schedule would include 2-4 groups per week.

  • Office is open 48 weeks of the year.
