Compensation: Paid $65-$80/session based on experience, max 25 sessions per week.

What does an Awesome Trauma Psychotherapist Do?

As an individual trauma psychotherapist at Mothers Advocacy Project, you provide our clients with the tools to help establish and/or maintain healthy families by closely following MAP’s Trauma Assimilation and Social Support (TASS) model, developed by MAP’s Dr. Denisa Millette. Working within the model guidelines, our Psychotherapist will serve as a client’s primary individual therapist from intake through Phase 2, with the responsibilities of assessing client’s eligibility and mental health, developing client care plans, and providing individual therapy sessions to guide clients through processing and healing from trauma. All materials and training in the model will be provided upon employment start date.

Position Purpose:

The purpose of the Trauma Psychotherapist is to provide assessments and individual psychotherapy to adult female clients to guide them through trauma recovery using the Mothers Advocacy Project (MAP)’s unique TASS model. All materials and training in the model will be provided upon employment start date.

Qualifications for consideration: 

  • LPC or LCSW is required

  • Experience working with clients with trauma disorders.

  • Excellent communication skills, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail oriented.

  • Driven to help others.

Key Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provides individual therapy for a caseload of 20 clients.

  • Establishes positive, trusting rapport with patients.

  • Maintains thorough records of patient meetings and progress.

  • Follows all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality.

  • Conduct Clinical Intake Interviews, assess eligibility and mental health, and create a care plan for each client.

Staff Team Requirements:

  • Attends quarterly staff meetings.

  • Attends weekly clinical staff meetings.

  • Completes Staff Self-Appraisals a min of 1x per calendar year.

  • Attends all necessary trauma training.

  • Attends all necessary developmental training for the position.

  • Maintain a caseload of 20 clients for onsite weekly therapy.

Payment Structure and Benefits: 

  • Employee is paid based on the caseload they carry and the clients they see.

  • $65 - $80/session for 50-minute sessions, based upon experience. This payment includes all documentation required and attending the Clinical Staffing Meeting for 1hr. per week.

  • Typical caseload – 20 clients weekly, up to 5 intake interviews each week for a max of 25 sessions per week. (With documentation needed, it is assumed that the employee will work around 30hrs/week making them a full-time employee.)

  • $20/session for client no-shows.

  • $500/month toward health insurance.

  • Office is open 48 weeks a year.
